Another trip to Quezon
I just came from Gumaca. Ahh it seems I've been travelling a lot this week. Except for the long hours involved in the trip which somehow cramps my leg, I enjoyed my trip.
Gumaca, which is part of the Quezon Province is the farthest I've been so far south of Luzon. Maybe someday I'll get to travel as far as Bicol and have a glimpse of the famous Mayon Volcano. In the meantime I just get to enjoy the sites I see along the way.
What struck me most in my recent trip is a part in Pagbilao. It was just a small strip in the highway on top the mountain where you see the other mountains, the plains and the calm sea. It has been raining so that the earth is green. Those kind of sceneries always does something to my spirit. I wish I could get off from the bus and just linger there a while and enjoy the beauty while I hum Bette Midler's song From a distance.
From a distance, everything seems to be in harmony... at peace... you don't see any chaos or the activities that goes in those areas... and you can't help but thank God for the beauty!
Oh okay, I might as well end this entry with the song. Sing it... or hum it and just be at peace!
From a distance the world looks blue and green,
And the snow-capped mountains white.
From a distance the ocean meets the stream,
And the eagle takes to flight.
From a distance, there is harmony,
And it echoes through the land.
It’s the voice of hope, it’s the voice of peace,
It’s the voice of every man.
From a distance we all have enough,
And no one is in need.
And there are no guns, no bombs, and no disease,
No hungry mouths to feed.
From a distance we are instruments
Marching in a common band.
Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace.
They’re the songs of every man.
God is watching us. God is watching us.
God is watching us from a distance.
From a distance you look like my friend,
Even though we are at war.
From a distance I just cannot comprehend
What all this fighting is for.
From a distance there is harmony,
And it echoes through the land.
And it’s the hope of hopes, it’s the love of loves,
It’s the heart of every man.
It’s the hope of hopes, it’s the love of loves.
This is the song of every man.
And God is watching us, God is watching us,
God is watching us from a distance.
Oh, God is watching us, God is watching.
God is watching us from a distance.

ang sarap naman ng work mo! you must've taken a lot of pics with you back. ang dami pa namang magandang tanawin sa Pinas.
naku Bing, i don't get to travel often around the Philippines.
hay naku, with all that's going on right now, parang nalulungkot lang ako sa kantang "from a distance." ang ganda nga sana pero bakit ba nagkakaganito?
anyway, i'll be subscribing to your blog. i hope you have rss =)
i've read what RSS is.. butI am not familiar with it... at this point i don't feel that my blog is for syndication...baka ikaw lang magsubscribe.. hehehe... besides i already write my family and friends long kaleidosthoughts mail to bug them :-) baka too much if i send my blog to them... baka maging spammer pa ako..hehehe...
it will be nice though if you drop by and read my thoughts from time to time... minsan naman ayos yung thoughts ko....minsan naman wala lang... gulo ano?... but thanks for your note nangiti ako!
