Sun spotlight

My boss called me to her table around 5:20 pm when my eyes caught something spectacular from the opening in the window blinds. It was different so I opened the blinds and marveled at the sight and immediately called my boss to watch it too.

Our office is in the 26th floor overlooking the North Harbor and this afternoon the sun was still bright but there was a great cloud formation on the horizon. Its center was thick and dark with some small openings and a big open space in the middle but the outer and bigger layers were lighter.

The sun’s bright rays passed straight down through that hole and left a bright reflection on the sea. It was like a spotlight! It felt like you were going to burn if you are on that space! The reflection was compact and so distinct! There were other rays passing through some smaller opening but the rays were sideways so that no other reflections were seen. Arghh I have no camera (and even if I did I know I could never capture the sight the way I picture it in my brain) and thought it was a waste to let it go without capturing it meanwhile the other girls in the department were there taking pictures from their celfones when they heard me exclaim at the beauty. I ran to the other department and called Jun to get his camera and take shots. He is a photographer and a good one at that. He looked at the sight grabbed his camera and went to the roofdeck to get a better view for his shots. It took some time for him to get to the roofdeck and this time there were already two spotlights and the rays were a bit slanted though it was still amazing.

So do you think that my words were able to capture the sight, I mean the way I have described it? Sometimes words could not really describe beauty, you have to see it with your eyes and only then can you feel it radiating to your inner being you really. It is not just a feast for your eyes but your whole being! You are simply awed!

The sight lingered for a while creating different patterns and they were all beautiful and if I close my eyes I could still feel it!

PS... this is an updated entry as Jun gave me a copy of his photo. However you can see the photo (Cloudscape in Mla Bay) also in his blog and you could see more of his photos and of course the comments to his works.

A Sagittarius still!

There was a commotion in the office as they said that the zodiac signs have changed and that there is a new sign brought about by the changes in the earth's alignment. Though I don't really look at horoscopes and look at them more as "for entertainment" I'm fascinated that my zodiac sign description seems to fit my personality and I feel at home with it.

And now that there would be a new addition to the zodiac signs and the covering dates will also differ. I wondered if mine would change... and whether I would match the description of my new sign. Fortunately I'm still a Sagittarius! :-)

Here's the new zodiac sign dates:

Capricorn : Jan. 20 - Feb. 16
Aquarius : Feb. 16 - March 11
Pisces : March 11- April 18
Aries : April 18 - May 13
Taurus : May 13 - June 21
Gemini : June 21 - July 20
Cancer : July 20 - Aug. 10
Leo : Aug. 10 - Sept. 16
Virgo : Sept. 16 - Oct. 30
Libra : Oct. 30 - Nov. 23
Scorpio : Nov. 23 - Nov. 29
Ophiuchus : Nov. 29 - Dec. 17 <<-- I wonder what their supposed personality is???
Sagittarius: Dec. 17 - Jan. 20 <<--- still belong here!!! :-)

Take note that the dates are overlapping, so would that mean that a man born on the 29th of November would be both an Ophiucus and a Sagittarius?

Also checked some reference and the covering dates are also not the same, wikipedia says that Sagittarius is from December 18 to January 21. So which is really right???

Oh well, it doesn't really matter. I like being a Sagittarian but I still feel unique and I am sure others feel the same!

How not to pass the grade!

It is another long night for me as I have to assist my nephew with his school project. Oftentimes he really does give a headache and I know that he does to his teachers. His mind is focused on so many other things except school that he doesn't like to think and just answers whatever thought pops up in his mind during examination...

It is so that i couldn't help but sigh when i got an email with the following attachments:

Still hoping for the day when he finally enjoys studying... passing the grade!

Rizal @ 150

Ayon kay Jose Rizal...

"Ang gabi ay nilalang upang mangarap at magsaya sa mga ala-alang pumupukaw ng damdamin"
(~~Noli Me Tangere)

Those words with face of our national hero greeted me when I entered the LRT coach this morning.

It was different from the Berso sa Metro and Tulaan sa Tren poster series I've been reading the past months on the LRT with the quote being shorter and the poster tile being shorter in length with different color (the background was green the letters and Rizal's photo were in black) so I moved closer so I could see more of it. It says at the bottom which partly covered "Rizal@150 1861 June 19 2011" and "National Historical Commission of the Philippines."

Later on I checked and it turned out that the project is "Rizal on the light Rail - Inspirational thoughts of Rizal/Quotations from Rizal" posted at the LRT/MRT Stations which started last December 20, 2010 and would run till June 2011 to commemorate his 150th birth anniversary.

I was reflecting while still on the ride that it has been a long time since his days yet the quotes still rings true till today. I certainly am looking forward to see some more quotes on the coming days!
